RAIKA (page 5) ~ Her last page...  :-(     Raika's favourite way of sleeping : on the couch,  always with her toys nearby :-)   In April 2006 the Belgian Briard-club organized a search-expedition in the Ardennen. Many Briards and... of course also their owners, were present. It was a splendid day, with many challenges...        In May 2006, I participated for the third time, in a survival in the Ardennen (Belgium). For the first time my wife and a good friend of us, came along , together with the dogs. As the first 2 times, it was a terrific experience in good company, along with many Briards. We had long walks through rough nature and at the end of each day, both owners and Briards were in need of a a long quality sleep ;-) In June 2006, we went for the second time to Violès (France). What was ment to be a long and relaxing yearly holiday with both our dogs, ended promptly and totally unexpected with a very painful accident. Raika died, due to a jump into the unknown... One moment she was there, with all her spontaneous joy and liveliness and a moment later... Our very warm hearted, joyful, playful and vivit friend, wasn't there anymore. It felt so unreal. The emptiness she left behind, was immense. Raika had to become 3 years old a week later,  but destiny desided otherwise... During her life, we often said to each-other : "We like her too much", but she was a dog, who needed our loved a lot, but always gave an equal amount of love in return... One thing we are really reassured off : although she was only 3 years with us, she has had a great life, loaded with lots of activities, she enjoyed doing a lot. Wherever she is now, there will always be a big part of her in our mind and heart ! We are grateful to have known her and we're also thankful that we were the lucky ones, that had her as our loyal and warm hearted furry friend...      RAIKA as we will always remember her...
